The environmentalists dirty little secret, the mining of all the rare earth elements that are required for the “green” technologies are very polluting in getting them out of the ground and into a usable state. Recorded from Channel 4 News, 07 December 2009.

Brazil and Australia raise the prize on Iron ore exported to China, and Americans Controls oil prices. China will go bankrupt if we dont do something in reponse to these.

Very reliable. If you ever bother to google the facts and read many complex charts and sum up the data, it’s exactly what you would find. I personally love the concept of environmentalism but dirty politicians like that global warming guy who lost to Bush, feed the public lies and use the term ‘enviromenatalism’ to benefit themselves.

  3. Exult says:

Flood market, get monopoly, raise prices.
You pretty much summed it up right there although Starbucks is not exactly the best example of this business concept as Starbucks’s prices are actually gradually being lowered. This is something many Japanese companies did in the past. I remember Fujifilm did this in the 80 and 90′s they virtually destroyed all smaller competitors by selling their film at a loss and jacking up the price when they have a monopoly, good thing we don’t use film anymore.

I agree, need viralling. In fact this whole channel is quite unbiased and truthful. I knew this fact years ago and when I tried to explain to potential Prius buyers how their car actually pollutes more than a hummer they were in disbelief because of the brainwashing liberal politicians who claim to be “enviromentalists”

  5. TheKrazySystem says:

REM’s, what a jackpot for China. But they should slow it down just for the mere fact that its a big polluter. And then they can just mine, build and export new shit for themselves lol their outputs would increase even more.

  6. ktchong says:

Actually, 97% of the world’s supply is located in China. The other 3% in the U.S., India, Vietnam, and Brazil.

  7. ktchong says:

When China rises, it seems that even God/Allah/Buddha or whatever (if there’s one,) is on China’s side.

The most important minerals of the future. And 97% of them are located in and controlled by China. Yummy.

If China cuts off the supply to the US and the West, Americans will not be able to build any more missile guidance systems.
    :D

  8. ktchong says:

“Theres only one snag China has 97% of the worlds supply. And theyre not selling.”

“Beijing is using its rare earths monopoly as a tool of foreign policy.”

“China mines more than 99 percent of the worlds dysprosium and terbium. Most of Chinas production comes from about 200 mines here in northern Guangdong and in neighboring Jiangxi Province.”

  9. ktchong says:

“There are 17 rare-earth elements… two heavy rare earths, dysprosium and terbium, are in especially short supply… Tiny quantities of dysprosium can make magnets in electric motors lighter by 90 percent, while terbium can help cut the electricity usage of lights by 80 percent…”

  10. ktchong says:

Rare Earth Elements (REEs) “are crucial to green technologies, as well as electronic devices from iPhones to X-ray machines. They are also used to produce fiber-optic cables, missile guidance systems and nanotechnology.”

“The co-called rare earth elements include about 17 metals, such as neodymium, lanthanum, terbium and dysprosium.”

how reliable is this news source? the reporting is biased, at least the impact of alternative technologies is not as great compared to carbon based technologies of oil , and coal!

    What’s All Gore going say about this;
”uhm, i invented the internet?” ?
”I’m going to act crazy” ?

    Great post, needs viralling

  14. merakhagen says:

and then all those Chinese miners will all die, plus all those pollution. What goes around comes around, but some Chinese will get away fat and rich.

  15. nxn8690 says:

    Excellent posting!!!!

  16. Sillysod says:

So much BS in ‘modern’ politics.

  17. jowankereve says:

I would like to add that rare earths are very important for the producing complex weapons systems electronics, they are not just for renewables.

And that one of the reasons that China produces 95 % of them is that they previously dropped the price heavily crashing the market and ruining the competition in other nations( who might have produced them more cleanly). Then raising the price once competition had been removed, Starbucks style.

  18. TheLordRose says:

Oh, so China is going to control the entire economy. Baring in mind the Americans have been selling all their gold reserves and taking out huge loans to China – I believe this is the end of the Western supremacy. Espiecally when you consider the US Dollar is going to collapse, oil and food prices will go up because of this CO15 – we’re going to be 3rd worlders!

  19. SaveOurSovereignty3 says:

    nice find

  20. Mackingster says:

Classic, claim your saving the world, while killing it. Dam Libs and environmentalists Nazis. They are the ones killing us. Not the other way around.
